So you’ve finished drafting your manuscript and you’re ready to open your office door to readers. I know that’s not an easy step to take, so I promise your work will be treated with respect in my hands. With 15 years of writing and editing experience, I’m here to help.

My developmental editing focuses on overall story structure, character arcs and relationships, as well as theme and symbolism. I can explore ways to show instead of tell and refine the work into a cohesive whole. Line editing may involve rearranging paragraphs and sentences, rewording unclear phrases, cutting unnecessary words, changes to word choice, and other language and style suggestions. My service can be as light or intensive as you like, from simple proofreading to full developmental and line editing and coaching. Preserving your unique writer’s voice is important to me throughout this process.

If you would like a consultation specific to your manuscript, I also offer editorial reviews. This is similar to a beta read but more intensive and from an editor’s perspective. I will review your manuscript, offer a critique, and recommend the level of edit I feel would best benefit your work. I can include a sample edit and we can also discuss your hopes and goals for the finished project. The editorial review fee can go towards my developmental and line editing fees if you decide to continue the project with me.

I also offer story critiques through the lens of the Enneagram, which I have found to be a powerful tool for story and fictional character development. Though usually used for personal growth and development, the Enneagram is perfect for developing fictional characters as it covers every important aspect of character sketches and character arcs. It’s useful in analyzing both internal and external conflicts while also providing the insight to fill in any blanks or plot holes. If this sounds interesting to you, let me know and I’ll be glad to discuss how the Enneagram can help improve your story.

My other services include book cover design, interior book design and formatting, and general self-publishing consulting. I’ve worked with many first time, self-published authors and enjoy being able to provide a flexible, one-stop-shop resource for first time novelists. Though my specialties are genre fiction and creative nonfiction, I will gladly work in any genre except erotica.

If this sounds like the service you’re looking for, send me an email at cheyennemunawar@gmail.com. I’d love to hear from you and I look forward to working with you to get your manuscript ready to publish!
